Transmission Service and System

Transmission, as the term articulates the purpose of a transmission system is to transmit the power from the engine to the drive axle and makes the wheels drive the vehicle. By adjusting the gear ratio, the system alters the levels of power and speed to the wheels. It requires a keen precision in making of its every gears and linkage to transmit the generated power at its best to the wheels.

Transmission systems are consist of the sequence of gears and shafts, through which the engine power is transferred to the driving wheels. The system consists of various components which are, clutch, Transmission Gears, Differential, Final drive, Rear axle, Rear wheels that cause forward and backward movement of the tractor to suit the different field condition. The complete path of power from the engine to the wheels is called powertrain. While in the manual transmission system, the driver drove the vehicle with the help of a hand-operated transmission serviceand a foot-operated clutch. The other auto transmission parts used in automobile transmission system are flywheel, flywheel ring gear, and pressure plate. In the automatic transmission, the transmission automatically changes the gears with regard to speed of the vehicle with the support of planetary gear sets, hydraulic system, seals and gaskets, torque converter, governor, modulator, and computer.

In a nutshell the function of a transmission system can list out simply as to transmit power from the engine to the rear wheels of the tractor and to make reduced speed available to rear wheels of the vehicle and to alter the ratio of wheel speed and engine speed in order to suit the field conditions and transmit power through right crankshaft and rear at right angles.
